Colleen Hillman

About the artist

Colleen is a Ceramic Artist.

Fascinated by contemporary architecture, the use of innovative design and new materials excites and inspires her. She is drawn to plain, simple forms with clean lines.

Materiality is important to her practice. She uses porcelain for its whiteness and its smooth surface finish. Her work is unglazed and polished which gives an ethereal quality and lightness to her minimalist forms. The pieces are thoughtfully placed together to give a sense of calm and balance. Some of her work is pierced and connected by glass and metal, reflecting her interest in architectural form.

Her recent work has been shown at James Hockey Gallery, Farnham; Espacio Gallery, London; and Oxmarket Gallery, Chichester. She has participated in Barnes Artists in Bloom, and Barnes Art Fair.

Colleen Hillman completed an MA Ceramics in 2018.
She is a member of Transition Craft and Design, and Barnes Artists.
Colleen works from her studio in SW London.
